I just got this. It does not look like any other watches i have, which is why i bought it. It really stands out. A very interesting, and historic watch.

I was checking at this model online when I was looking for a simillar Seiko5 model and Didnt expect that this was based on Kamen Rider Ichigo's Henshin belt! No wonder it looked familiar.

It’s a really nice looking watch but the price is absolute madness. I enjoy the vintage 70’s charm but again I fail to see the value proposition when I can get a Timex with similar quality for less 🤷🏽♂️.

Seiko do made an Ultraman limited too just JDM none for the west or anyone else in the world, just like this one, this is not the real JDM and Asia only” Kamen Rider” this is a cheaper version and just call” heritage 1968 reissue” that’s it. The real Kamen Rider comes with different box, deco. Iconic bike icon on the watch back, the dial is nice textural dark green like the Rider’s helmet, sapphire crystal plus different leather strap and only 4000ps issued Asian and Japan only.
They should re-release 5KX series with bidirectional bezel and lume pip.

I have recently come back to Seiko automatic after getting swiss only brands. The have upped Thier game with better finish and, unlike some Swiss brands, are more imaginative. Unbeatable value. Love this watch.... Well done Seiko...😊
Indeed, the costs to produce better finished watches in Switzerland makes them more expensive compared to Seikos

@@johanvandersandt8904 it's a really old power rangers style show from Japan and his outfit is largely silver/grey. Your comment is testament to the design and execution of the watch. You have no idea what kamen rider is, or that this watch is a kamen rider themed watch and yet you've managed to identify it as a silver ranger watch.
@@pk1342 Thank you for the context! Yes, I have never seen that character. In South Africa we had DBZ, Pokémon and a few other Japanese based shows but not this. I think it looks awesome! If it gives someone a little bit of extra joy because it reminds them of a show from back in the day all the more power to them! Take care friend!

Seiko puts prices up, in an inflationary environment; concurrently offering great variety: unacceptable.

If you are a Seiko collector then you should have one in your collection. It offers a point of difference.
I personally am a Seiko collector, and I went towards the diving line, 62 mas accurate reissue, captain willard reissue and so on :)

I have seen this model upclose and the bracelet and quality sucked. Very cheap feeling. There are better option at that price.

Seiko is still relying on nerds like Marc from Long Island watches to buy these overpriced junk. I love Marc but I don’t understand “Fan boying” over Seiko watches. He even openly copies Seiko designs and charges less for them with an Islander logo on them. I guess he even thinks Seiko is overpriced since he charges less for his watches.
Another reissue. Seiko, you are dying. We want new design, innovation, some EFFORT.
They milked watches from the past, it works for them, so probably they will stick to this approach for a long time.
Everyone’s doing reissues these days. Seiko is no different.

Looks like a toy. $450? No thanks. Timex launched a banger today, 36mm, same case design, $170. Quartz, yes, but who cares? Looks as beautiful and futuristic as this one. I’d go with Timex all day over this. It’s a pass to me..

The only reason I’m on the fence with this is because I already have the Kamen Rider 50th anniversary Seiko 5. Same dial and handset design but a dark green textured dial surface on a 5KX body, and the same price as this.

Mate, you’re wrong and misleading a bit here…….This is not the Kamen Rider watch, the real Kamen Rider is dark green dial and also comes with a different box plus a Kamen Rider iconic bike icon deco on the back of the watch plus a completely different leather strap, sapphire crystal plus only 4000pcs world wide. This is call” the heritage reissue 1968” that’s it. Not the Kamen rider just another cheap out version for the west not like the real JDM and Asia only “Kamen Rider”
A bit of information here:
The watch you’re describing is the 50th Anniversary Kamen Rider Seiko 5, which was issued last year. It was a limited edition which transferred certain features of this watch (the bezel design, hands and hour / minute marker layout) onto a Seiko 5KX case.
The watch featured here is a modern reproduction of the original Seiko 5 watch that the original Kamen Rider character wore in his civilian identity of Takeshi Hongo. If you look at episode 5 of the original series (available elsewhere on RUclips) the watch face features quite prominently as a plot point as it tells him how much time he has to stop an earthquake from happening.
Both watches are limited editions and cost the same price, but the Anniversary 5KX one is a little bigger on the wrist. Neither watch has a sapphire crystal.
